Peter"s career in consulting began in 1999 when he joined PA Consulting Group as the Retail Strategy lead in the Global Energy practice. In September 2002 he founded his own company, EnStra, a network of experts in the energy and utilities field. Peter"s own consulting work is focused on providing business development support, and strategic advice to organisation operating in the energy and utilities markets. Over the last two years he has focused on Smart Metering and Energy Services, and led a research team looking at European and international developments in the Smart arena. Peter's career spans both business and consulting. In his business career he spent 20 years in the energy and utilties sector, both in the UK and in the EU, with roles spanning strategic planning, marketing and sales management. He was one of the pioneers of liberalisation of energy markets in the UK and was President of SBGI (Society of British Gas Industries) As a consultant he is a seasoned practitioner in the field of Envisioning, Strategy and business/organisational development support. He works with organisations at all stages in the strategy development and implementation cycle, at all levels in the organisation from the Board down. Peter deploys powerful soft modelling and group facilitation techniques to enable groups of decision makers to work through complex strategic issues and come to a common agreed vision of the optimum way forward.
