Experience and Qualifications

Royal Mail Project Management of a complex strategy review and its subsequent implementaion. Developed the project approach with the client to take all customers and suppliers through a major process change, and subsequently worked closely with the client through the project.
Valuebill, a National Project funded by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister Programme establishment and management for a two year pilot programme, to enable improved efficiency through electronic data exchange between local authorities and two national bodies.
Project management for the rollout including high-level communications, marketing and public relations activities nationally to English and Welsh Local Authorities in the following two years.
The programme provided for a fundamental change in the way in which data was gathered and shared, with wide implications for Local Authorities, the Valuation Office Agency, and their many software application suppliers.
National Security Programme; Project Manager The National Programme funded by the Home Office is a major security initiative comprising a large number of related projects. Provided project management expertise for four of these projects, and contributed to the overall programme in the context of document management.
The main complexities of the projects relate to the number of stakeholders, over 800 nationally, involved within both the public and private sector delivery partners.
One of the most important of these as a future user has put it on record that of the many project managers that they deal with, Barry was the best at communication with themselves and other major participants.
