Senior posts in HR prior to 1989 - Resources Director of Tektronix UK (1984-89) directing HR, IT, administration & logistics. Senior HR Manager with Amersham International (1977-84) before, during and after that company was the first organisation privatised by the Conservative Government in 1983.

Leadership & Team Development, including Coaching Designing & delivering development workshops for senior managers in a major accountacy pratice to help them get ready for partnership - or decide that that was not for them.

Delivering team development workshops for leadership teams, professional teams & business teams to help them build their personal skills and learn the skills to work more effectively together, usually using the MBTI as a personal & team development tool.

Coaching assignments with, among others - CE of financial services business; COO of charity, CFO of US-owned software business, Territory Director of Royal Mail region, Production Director of paper manufacturer.

Organisational Effectiveness & Change

Designed & ran with Albert Binns & BeeAgile successful partnership workshops with NHS Trusts and their PFI partners which helped them move beyond the legal words of the contracts to a committed & effective way of working together to achieve joint outcomes and establish the right governance arrangements. There were major cultural issues & misunderstandings to overcome for contracts of 20 years+ duration.

Helped the CE & Directors of a financial services business over 5 years to move from being a collection of dysfunctional & autonomous business units towards a coherent & successful business focussed on providing business finance to SMEs. Particular projects included:
- Coaching the CE about his priorities & options to deal with the most difficult people & business issues in the business.
- Working with the directors to determine their overall strategies & ways of working together & leading the business;
- Helping with the people change aspects of moving from a DOS-based IT system (still live in 2006) to a company-wide management system which brough greater visibility of appropriate processes & financial management issues.
- Designing & leading the delivery of the first ever senior management development programme for the businsses - covering leadership, finance, marketing, operations.

Delivered training programme to develop the OD & change management skills of the HR professionals of a major pharmaceuticals business which was subject to a merger during the programme where the people involved learned in real-time how to use these skills to support colleagues & managers - and see & feel the effects of change on themselves too.

Project managing the closure, redundancy and relocation of the largest employer affected by the 2012 Olympics redevelopment in Stratford. Asian-owned business with 120 staff, all male and all of Asian-origin with the factory languages being Urdu and Bengali.
