Royston is Director of CrossLight Management and Decision Dimensions. Crosslight Management is a niche company that offers a range of programme, research and change management consulting. Roy's background is in senior management in consultancy, mainly in the IT sector.
Previous roles include managing a major IT programme in Defence for a software house, force generation projects within the LAND UK Army, Improvement Planning Manager for Philips UK, European IT Manager, and Director Consulting within the Benelux area for BSO-Origin (later ATOS-KPMG).
He has also delivered organisational improvements and restructuring of operations within major companies and implemented high-level change in many industry and public sector organizations.
His research interests include political processes in organisational change, and IT related change management. He has spoken at a number of industry conferences and tutors the Masters Change Management module at Birkbeck University of London and in IT Change and Consulting at Kingston. Roy is known for his ability to grasp problem implementations and turn them round, his mix of technical and people skills coupled with a focus on getting things done ensure swift resolution of issues.

Assigments: Head Health Care Services - 2007 to present
Head of department for the service organisation delivering a rostering and workforce solution into the NHS for a London based software house. Managing 32 NHS Trust clients, and one private health care company.
Managing the programme of delivery into the client and setting up of all controls, including PRINCE 2 compliant project management methods. Recruitment of project and consulting staff, delivery of presentations, proposals and the creation of project documentation (PIDs etc). Managing a staff of three project managers, 7 internal consultants and 12 external consultants.
Consulting Director CL - 2003 to present
Several BID and Partner processes managed including large scale bid for NATO. Project Managed FORGE and BLENHEIM programme at LAND UK as part of the ODP programme, set-up service approach and put applications into in-service management before handing over to permanent staff. Also interim service management at LAND UK and several smaller scale projects and assessments carried out.
Set up, including recruitment of key staff, the defence sector for a small software house providing force generation and HRMS software for UK LAND, RFA, NATO and DMSD. Managed the programme of delivery including planning, setting up of controls and all aspects of the delivery of software into the clients of MSW.
Project Managed the FORGE application on the supplier side into LAND during op telic for both the interim model and second stages covering TAMIS (Pay) functionality - the delivery was signed off as ‘exemplary' by DCSA. This covered all aspects of the delivery management, testing processes, development of test/QA scripts as well as the difficult T&I onto the SLI and air gap replication.
Principal Consultant ATOS-KPMG UK - 2001-2003
Developed the Basel II compliant data warehouse technology design for a large-scale bid (10 million+ deal) for a high street retail bank.
Led successful change management within a specialist chemical SAP project for Germany – a difficult forced change with short time-scales and both political and resource issues.
Developed and led workshops and consulting for the EMEA I.T. strategy project. Building consensus and buy-in for the strategic direction for the organisation within a complex EU governmental agency.
Balanced scorecard consulting and workshops for Philip Morris. Intensive workshops and consulting assignment focused around gaining acceptance and overcoming resistance whilst building a coherent performance management approach.
Diverse Consultancy the Netherlands - 1994-2001
Developed concept and implemented the global knowledge centre for BSO-Origin focused on competitor surveillance and large scale bid support – responsible for day-to-day management of central staff.
Strategy development, including the creation and implementation of a new global business planning approach – carried out turnaround plan for CH and Nordic for AO and outsourcing strategy Germany.
Sector and account development, engagement management, and business planning and development for ATOS global and target clients (ABN-Amro, Philips Divisions, Unilever, P&G, Philip Morris)

Extensive cost reduction programme implemented with major clients. Intensive consulting approaches where opportunities for service reduction are identified - Eight million pounds budget savings realised in one case
BPR re-engineering of an international manufacturing organisation – included the introduction of centrally managed IT Services for Europe and divestment from the parent company.
Delivered the as-is assessment and the I.T. strategy/infrastructure plan for the European Operations Services back office systems.
