We aim to:
1. Be the most effective support organisation for independent consultancies. We have around 60 members, all of whom:
- work as management consultants or in a closely related profession.
- are sole traders or principals in a practice with no more than five partners or managing consultants
- are members of a recognised professional institution with a code of professional conduct similar to that of the Institute of Management Consultancy.
2. Provide our members with networking opportunities so that:
- we get to know and understand the skills and knowledge of other RG members before embarking on assignments
- we are happy to make referrals on the basis of real knowledge of other RG members' skills and experience.
3. Be a sociable organisation where:
- meetings are collegiate, professional and fun.
- the atmosphere is supportive and friendly.
- networking is a valued core activity
- there are regular and varied social activities outside the main meetings.
4. Help our members develop professional skills by:
- using our critical mass in the independent consultancy sector to attract outstanding speakers
- arranging for talks, discussions and case studies that contribute towards the CPD requirements of appropriate professional bodies
- giving access to a broad range of skills and experience from peers under â??Chatham Houseâ?? rules - whereby sensitive issues can be safely discussed with colleagues
- generating an understanding of new and emerging trends relevant to management consultancy
We aim to Support our members' business development by:
- being a source of senior and trusted consultants who can work together to win assignments that inPidually they might not be qualified to obtain.
- providing potential clients with the reassurance of continuity on assignments - all members are backed-up by a group of professional and trusted colleagues.
- ensuring ready access to experienced peers and knowledge resources to help win business.
- promoting the application of RG brand values - particularly professionalism and in-built quality assurance to our assignments.
We achieve all this through:
- A unique business model in the world of networked management consulting. Our constitution allows favourable and flexible financial arrangements to be made between collaborating consultancies. This is achieved without erosion of margins by fees to cover central costs.
- Actively involving the membership in determination of our policies and activities.
- Saturday morning meetings in high quality venues bi-monthly. Each meeting is followed by lunch and optional afternoon workshops for those who wish to stay on. These are usually attended by 40-60% of the membership, ensuring that members gain real benefit from both networking and social contact.
- Many informal evening meetings on topics of specific professional or social interest.
- A website with exceptional facilities for communications, research and collaborative working.
- Periodic conferences.
